My Plans for the Memorial day weekend were to work on the polish job on my RV8 however events around our family cabins in the Kenai Keys here in Alaska made that take a back seat for a couple days.

This fire at the time had burned nearly 160,000 acres and came on faster than anyone expected. The cabin owners in the area were able to put out spot fires that occurred on the north side of the river and all the cabines were saved, even the cabins on the fire side were saved by the work of thier owners by soaking them before they fled...The Bombardier CL415's did a good job too...

That is good news. Glad you were able to save your cabin. We live in a wildfire area that looks much like where you do. It is always scary when it gets windy.
