Hi all,
Ran into a new problem on the last cross country in the -8. The airplane is equipped with a GNS-430 and a SL-30, with dedicated antennas on the belly. On this flight I was using the 430 as my primary comm and as I climbed through 9.5k on my way to 11.5k, my reception of ATC grew increasingly scratchy until it was nearly unreadable. I dialed in the freq. on the SL-30 and switched radios on the audio panel and the problem disappeared... reception was clear as a bell. To compound the confusion, the 430 started working fine again once below about 9k. I don't know if the 430 was transmitting poorly at any time, but ATC did not have any complaints.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks
