Looking at the Mother Ship's web site today, I'm always interested how many completions they have and of which models.

This made me wonder how many were flying back in 2003 when I started on N941WR.

Here are the numbers, then:
As of 04/22/2003, more than 3,221 RV aircraft have been completed and flown!
Listed by Model
RV-3 ______ 210
RV-4 _____ 1060
RV-6/6A __ 1616
RV-7/7A ____ 17
RV-8/8A ___ 286
RV-9/9A ____ 33

Now:
As of October 27, 2008 5,925 RV aircraft have been
completed and flown!
Listed by Model
RV-3 ______ 258
RV-4 _____ 1279
RV-6/6A __ 2306
RV-7/7A ___ 682
RV-8/8A ___ 829
RV-9/9A ___ 412
RV-10 _____ 157
RV-12 _______ 2

Man, they have been cranking them out and I suspect they will hit 6,000 before the end of the year. I also wonder if the number of RV-9 completions will ever surpass the number of -7 completions.

9s will never outnumber the 7s

Excluding your starting data set. It does show that side by side is the preferred seating arrangement although not overwhelmingly.

Not likely. The -9 was introduced before the -7, so the -7's numbers document a dramatic come-from-behind success.

9's passed by 7's

I think it's do to those of us who are power hungry! I'm a meat and potato eatin' boy so I'm not on the slim side and I need all the power I can get! That's my reasoning and I'm sticking to it.:D
