Can you look at these pics and tell me what you think? The bowing is very close to tolerance, hitting about 3/32" (eyeballed) at the deepest point. I'm borderline on screwing with it.

Hard to say without better visualization but I suspect closing the trailing edge with relatively "hard" rivets stretched the skins when the rivets were driven - causing/contributing to the wavy trailing edge.
 
I think it's pretty hard to do much better. I did scrap out an aileron that had more than that ripple, but honestly, I doubt you'll notice the difference in flight. May not look the greatest if you look at it in exactly the wrong way, but..
 
3/32" is huge, and your photos don't look that large. It is hard to guess with a mirror surface, use some measured hardboard or feeler gauges before you get too excited.
