I noticed the other day (while pushihg the tail down to check the nose tire) that with the standard RV tail tie down in place that the rudder (larger 9 rudder) will contact the ground before the tie down will. Part of the reason I leave this tie down in place was to act a skid in case of over flairing on TO or TD. I saw an "A" model at some show that had what looked like a "factory style" tie down, it was streamlined and had a hole for the rope and was taller than just the loop tie down I use. Anybody know where I can get such a thing or has made one that will do the job? Just looking for ideas before I start manufacturing my own.
