Certainly a dumb dumb question  because nobody asked it before, but I can't clearly read the plan (DWG-9) to determine how long this plate is supposed to be. Does it reach the main spar and butt against the top and bottom skins on each side, or should it be cut just before the spar so as to not interfere with the skins and add thickness?

Thank you

You definitely don't want it adding thickness. Mike's example looks great!

I cut mine to long the first try. It was overlapping the spar. That was bad, as the seem between the tank and leading edge was off. Once I trimmed it back farther, everything lined up ok.
