I’m working on KAI page 29-04 and while fitting the Support Leg block I discovered that the gap where the wing spar fits is not equal top and bottom. My investigation revealed that the F-01464 Upper Drag Fittings and F-01442 Lower Drags Fittings which establish the gap that the wing spar slides into are not the same thickness. There is a difference of 0.007”. That seems excessive to me and could cause problems when fitting the wings.
Does anyone have access to uninstalled RV-14 wing spars that can accurately measure the main spar assembly thickness where they fit between the F-01403 and F01404 center section bulkheads?
My Upper drag fittings measure 1.693” thick.
My Lower Drag Fittings measure 1.686” thick.
