About to install a Garmin SL-30 in my RV-6A. What is the popular VOR/Glideslope antenna for the RV. Is there something that can go in a wing tip. The usual antennas look pretty draggy and are not very pretty. Bob.

Lots of folks use Bob Archer antennas.

There has been varying degrees of success with the Archer antennas. I tried an Archer nav antenna in my wingtip (RV-8). It worked great until I put in Duckworks HID lights. At that time the range of the Archer antenna was reduced dramatically. I wound up with a Comant cat whisker nav antenna on the belly by the tailwheel with excellent results. Some folks love the Archers, others have had issues. YMMMV
