Anybody ever see a plate nut that would rivet to a panel that is perpendicular to the mating face of the nut? Seems like such a thing would be useful -- it would in the particular circumstance I am dealing with.

Use a small piece of aluminum angle to make the perpendicular orientation?

In my case I have a rib very close to the location where I want to put a plate nut. Too close to allow room for the plate nut to sit on the skin in its 'normal' position. If there was such a thing as a plate nut that would rivet to the rib, I would be all set.

Can you take a single-ended nut plate (one where the threaded hole is at one end, rivet holes in middle and other end) and just bend it 90 deg?
