Just got my tailbone done and decided to do a trial fit per section 11 of the vertical fin. Everything seemed to line up nicely but I had problems getting the top right bolt to thread through the bracket that sticks up through the top skin of the tailcone into the nutplate on the front spar of the fin. I had previously threaded bolts into all of the nutplates after they were installed so I know it is ok. Looks to me like the bolt has no room to align just right to start based on going through the plate and spar material. Things must be off just enough. I took it back off and rechecked the nutplate - ok. Tried a different sequence of starting the bolts. This time I got the right upper in but then could not get the left. Was wondering if anyone else experienced any difficulty with this. Thought I would ask the experts before I call Vans.

Maybe the fin skin is in contact with the cone surface. I recall shaving a bit off the edge to get everything to line up.
