I am curious to know how many folks have used the flap position sensor system from Van's, and how you like it if you did? Also, how many used up/down limit switches (or none of the above).

Personally I'd prefer manual flaps, but since that ain't what I got..... :(

Thanks, Larry

I've seen some RV's that have small lines marked on the outboard leading edge of the flap. When the trailing edge of the wing is even with the 1st line, your flaps are 10 degree, 2nd line 30 degrees (or however you want to set this up).

You may need a flashlight at night though ;) I'm with you on the manual flap preferance.

Ditto

I marked my left flap out on the leading edge with lines and large numbers every ten degrees of deflection. Just used Sharpies for the marking, then covered them with a piece of the clear UHMW Tape to keep it from scraping off. I like it well enough that I will do somethign similar after painting.

I used an "up" limit switch in my system so that once I throw the switch to the Up position, I can forget about it. No down limit switch.

Happy with all,

Paul
