Vans wants $15 for the compass mount for a slider for a SIRS compass. Does anybody know whats included in the kit? If its just a couple screws and washers I rather not pay that much for it.

You'll receive a machined piece of aluminum radiused on the forward side to match the windshield brace and slotted on the aft face to locate the compass lug. The base of the mount is drilled so it can be screwed to the brace. I can't remember if the fasteners were included. I used a narrow strip of double sided 3M foam tape and a white zip tie.

I did not want to drill holes in the brace so I used an Adel clamp which attached to the compass just fine. Glad I did it that way as I removed it not long after my first flight because I never looked at it. There is no evidence of the previous install.

epoxy

I attached the machined piece to the brace with some clear epoxy. Been on for 6.5 years now.
