OK, I think I must be missing something. As far as I can see from the one-page instruction sheet, you set the digital level against the 1/4" wide edge of the tool. How do you keep it perpendicular to the tool? Moving the level a hair to to either side of perpendicular results in a significant change in reading. I'm considering routing a slot in a piece of 1X4 to make a flat surface as wide as the level.

I don't know of anyone who is interested in setting the pitch precisely, that uses the supplied wooden tool.

Most use a home made tool (described numerous places in the forum and an old RVator) or you could order TOOL-00002 Prop Pitch Bracket from Van's.

It is the tool detailed on page 47-07 of THIS DOCUMENT
 
OK, I've been using the home-made tool

for the past 5 years. Just thought the new one supplied by Sensenich was supposed to be better. So much for progress?
