A week or so ago I posted on the memory battery in my Garmin 430 gone dead. I found information here on a DIY project. I thought I could get it done and ordered the battery.
Last week I transported a company helicopter from Redding CA to PHX and one of company mechanics rode along. I asked him about the battery situation in the 430. He said he had a contact at an avionics shop in PHX.
He contacted me this week and said the the shop would do it for $93 plus the battery. (They couldn't use the battery I provided because it wasn't on the paperwork). So, out the door, $110. Not bad.
Glad I didn't have to dig into the unit. I'm happy![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
