Does anyone have an experience with Unlimited Aero Engines in MA/Tim Hess? I haven't found many mentions of this shop online, wondered if anyone had any first hand experience?
I engaged Tim Hess at Unlimited to build a Superior XP-360 (IO-360-M1B equivalent) engine for my RV-7 project.
Tim came highly recommended by several A&Ps/IAs in the Boston area whom I trust, and I've been very happy with my decision to go with him. The engine he delivered is beautiful - flow-matched, balanced and dyno'd out at 185 hp. Tim has been really helpful during my engine install - I ask a lot of dumb questions, and he has always been ready to patiently answer them.
If it helps, here are a few posts from my build log website about the engine purchase process -
You're welcome! Hoping for a first on-airplane engine run later this year, I'm looking forward to seeing how it runs.
I think my engine was one of the first that Tim did for an RV, or any E-AB airplane for that matter, so it's not surprising that many other RV builders haven't heard of him.
