Understanding the role of the claim adjustor is crucial when filing a claim. Each claim is carefully evaluated on a case-by-case basis, taking into account various factors and circumstances. While there are general exclusions that apply to all companies, it is important to note that coverage may vary depending on the specific situation.

Claims related to wear and tear or similar issues may have limitations on coverage. This includes any deterioration, freezing, mechanical, structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical failure or malfunction. While the claim itself will be paid for, the specific equipment that failed may not be covered. For example, if worn-down tires cause the landing gear to fail, it is unlikely that the tires would be replaced under the claim.

It is worth emphasizing that if a part fails due to one of these issues, any other damage to the aircraft would still be eligible for coverage. However, it is important to note that in the event of a total loss where the agreed value (hull value) is reached, everything within that value will be covered.

In conclusion, when filing a claim, the claims adjustor will assess the situation and determine how the claim will be paid.

My claims adjuster is/was great! Very knowledgeable about GA maintenance, very friendly, overall a great guy. My claim was for smoke/soot damage from a nearby fire, so many wear and tear issues did not apply.
