Looking at the parts that go into the lower cowling exit support bracket thingie, and there's a note (RV-7A DWG 45) that says something about U-720B for an (I)O-360 being mounted lower "and rotated 180 degrees" (or words to that effect.

Huh? I can't picture it...does someone have a pic of this installation?

TIA...

Steve

This is the bracket between the exhaust pipes connecting the lower cowl to the fuse bottom skin at the firewall, right? I have pictures but not with me at the moment, can send them when I get home tonight if nobody else posts. This was a bit of a puzzle if I remember correctly!

Thanks, Noah...I sort of see how it goes, and what it's supposed to do (support and capture sides of the slot for the gear leg, etc.). I just don't get the "rotated" part of the instructions. Doesn't make sense to me...

I won't guarantee I followed the plans exactly, but it does its job being a bunch of pieces of aluminum riveted together to secure the cowl...

I have a couple of pix of the construction but didn't think those would be useful, let me know if they would be.

Say hello to Mr. Hund if you ever run into him.
