How do I store a tyre/tire for optimal preservation in medium to long term storage?
It is a small tailwheel tyre so small enough to get in plastic bag if recomended.

PS I did a search - nil found

Store in a cool dark place inside of a nitrogen purged plastic bag. Rotate monthly to prevent flat spots. No flourescent lights or ozone generators nearby.

Just keep it out of direct sunlight and it will last a looooong time.

Yup - a looooong time! I wish I could get these dozen (and a half) old tire carcasses to rot away...they just take up space. I asked Desser at OSH if it was cost-effective to send them in for them to buy, and the guy was quite honest - shipping would cost more than they would pay for them.

I just keep new stock in a box in the hangar storage. Tubes - those I keep in their original plastic bags in a dark closet in the air conditioning.
