Im using safety wire to tie cyl baffling together under cylinders and wonder if anyone knows a 1/4 inch tubing to put on the safety wire that will take the heat and not melt.

I've seen the PTFE tube for sale at Fry's electronics in the section with shrink tube and split conduit. It came in a bag with a veriety of sizes, probably 6-12" lengths from what I remember. That was a year or more ago, so I don't know if they still carry it.

Van's includes some tube with the baffle kit to put over the stainless rod. I don't think it is PTFE. Might want to see what material that is.

What ever you use be sure to protect the oil drain back lines from chafing (I install 3/8 neoprene hose on them). Many folks (including Van's) think the "plastic tube" installed on the baffle rods will not wear into the aluminum oil lines, they are wrong.
