I'm New Here
Waiting on my new Gemini PFD to arrive through Aircraft Spruce in Australia and want to confirm that it does not come with or need a external GPS aerial ?
Does this unit operate in dash with no need for any external GPS signal?
Thanks, first timer with glass cocpit instruments.
Regards Graham

If you want the DG tape to work as a ground track indicator you will need to feed the Gemini a NMEA or Aviation GPS signal. If you do not, the unit operates in free gyro mode and will precess just like a mechanical gyro.

Graham, Welcome aboard the good ship VAF. I see this is your first post.

Brian (Brantel) is correct. I just wanted to add that you can also feed the PFD with a hand held GPS. I use an old Garmin 196. It works great and is available for very little cost. I ordered the power cable and that comes with a data feed to the unit.

Good luck and again, welcome.
