A. Look at the service manual - L1178.
B. Don't know your experience level, but asking the question suggests to me a need to at least see it done first... They can sometimes be surprisingly "resistant" to 'corrective interference'.
 
Thanks Ben. I did clip one of the longest leads and "dissected" it. The biggest trick to getting this done is re-pressing the nut back onto the shortened wire. I could get it done easily with the $300 T200 tool kit, but I'm trying to save a little money.

Also can't find the service manual (free) anywhere. I'm checking with nearby maintenance shops to get this done.
