I am about ready for my avionics. Does anybody know when we can expect a new version of the G3X with a touchscreen? That is using the 795/796 in panel mount version. Most of all other new Garmin products are touch screen.

I don't have any real information for you, but I'm convinced the next generation of EFIS will be touch screen. Garmin is already in that game with their G2000, G3000 and GTN series... it's only a matter of time before it trickles down.

I spoke to an anonymous avionics dealer, and it was his belief that there would be something like you are talking about within the next 12 months from the electronics big boys, and the other EFIS manufacturers would be soon to follow.

I'm just finishing my empennage, and I have to keep telling myself that the screens I'm going to run don't exist yet!
