Me??..Not yet I hope, but I have a tendency maybe tonot want to throw things away too soon.Long story short, I still use a Garmin Gps 195 that until recently has been totally reliable. It has recently lost it's map display, and I was wondering if anyone had any similar experience, and had it restored somehow? It will still get me from A to B using other pages. Thanks

Yes

I had a 195 that decided to kill itself. I think suicide is built into the programming.

195

You calling me old? :D

I use a 195. Works great. Last time I was at OSH, I had the database updated. I figure I'm good for another 15 years or so.

My 195 died a day out of warranty. Garmin fixed it...but not under warranty. They played hardball on the warranty date. The magic bullet in my case was a VISA card. At this point, I wouldn't advise you to follow my course and fix the 195. I bought a used Aera 510 here on VAF that is smaller, lighter, more capable and not a whole lot more bucks than the 195, as I recall.
