Van's recently posted a revised 42M-05 Rev. 3, to correct the problem. http://www.vansaircraft.com/pdf/revisions/RV-12/RV-12_42M.pdf You probably have a wire from the dimmer pot in pin 8 instead of pin 6 of the 25 pin D-sub.
