What do you do to cover up the slots where the tip up canopy hinges are in the top forward skin? Tape? Glue on a piece of aluminum? Nothing?
Thanks

3M tape. This is the tape that glider pilots use to cover wing root connections.
My -6 is painted Matterhorn White (Very common color), and it matched perfectly.
The tape is expensive but a roll will last a lifetime. I have to replace it about every 5 years.

If you want a 3M part number, use #471 tape.... makes it easier to buy...:)

3M Tape for top fwd skin hinge slots

Thanks I'll buy some 3M tape for now.
truly appreciated.

I did not slot that part because I did not want to eject the canopy. I did install the release mechanism to make removing the canopy for maintenance easier. If you do not want the canopy ejection in flight feature, don't slot the skin.
