I am fitting my forward canopy frame (this is my second one) and I have the same issue of the C702 forward skin binding with the F771 forward top skin. Did anyone that has gone before me had the same issue. If so how did you solve the issue. I have the 1/32 gap between the two skins. Any ideas what I am doing wrong.

Are there any tip-up RV9's or RV7's in the Tulsa area I can go see?

I had the same problem and asked Van's. I followed their advice which was two fold. The 1/32" gap that you have can be widened a quite a bit. In other words following the instruction in this case won't help. However, the biggest thing you can do is to shim up the C-702 skin along the canopy frame between the hinges. I used and .032" shim and widened that gap a little between the skins and it solved the problem.
