There are some tight places where getting a nut and washer started on a bolt is very difficult. I took one of those little alneco disk magets about 3/8 inch dia and about 0.060 thick and glued it to the tip of a popsicle stick. It will hold an AN3 nylock nut and washer at the same time and makes it easy to slip into small places to get started on a bolt.
Another idea for keeping a nut in a socket when held at odd angles where they want to fall out, is to fill the socket with kids modeling clay and press the nut into the clay. It will stick and it is reuseable. I have one socket for 8-32 nuts with clay in it that I have used for 4-5 years now.

Steal a tube of glue stick from your kids.

A little on your finger will get many washers, and nuts in place.

Wipes right off fingers too.

nuts and washers

I use fuel lube or assembly fluid to hold the nuts and washers on my finger(s).
