Here's how I worked out getting the nuts started on the AN3's of the HS front spar:

Sure beats crawling in the tailcone. And extensions and a socket works fine for getting them tightened / torqued.

Omitted from the image, the washer goes in tubing with the nut. For final assy pre-applying and letting dry a little torque seal, nut to washer might make be helpful.

Nutplates

I installed nut plates there. I never have to worry about getting the HS on or off. Another attitude saver is to use a little dab of epoxy under the shims located there. If you need to change them a heat gun will allow removal.
