Trying to finish up my last bit of wiring and have recently added a GDL39 to the mix. I have a 796 in the panel that I would rather hard wire to and they will only communicate on tx/rx1. I had already ran tx1 to the TT EFIS SG for gps input and wondering if anyone knows if tx2 will do the same job if configured NMEA.

Also I have the rs232 in/out on the SL30 wired to the EFIS to display the VOR and ILS information. Is there a way to feed anything from the 796 to the SL30 such as frequencies and the like?? There is only one of the tx/rx paths in and out of the SL30????

Thanks for taking time!!!

Greg, you are in good shape.

I recently finished a panel update. Here is my serial data flow -

Aera 795 TX1 & RX1 with the GDL 39
Aera 795 TX2 goes to both my TT EFIS SG and my MGL V10 (for frequencies)

The V10 supports the VHF format the same as the Garmin SL30

I assume you are using the dedicated VOR in/out on the EFIS ?

Yes Glen,

I have the 232 rx/tx going to the EFIS and just ask the G3Xpert if I could piggy back the orange wire into the SL30 on pin 4 to relay frequencies...

This stuff does so much that it's hard on my little brain!!

Thanks so much!!
