I’m replacing the 150 series prop on my RV 9 with a new Whirl Wind 300 series. I’m curious if there would be any interest from this group to buy the 150 series? Just to be clear upfront, the 150 is leaking grease from 2 of the blades. It needs to be overhauled but the only person I could find to do it is in Ohio. I needed a prop that could be serviced by Hartzell in shops closer to me (I’m in NC).
I can reuse the crate for the 300 series to ship the 150 to make it easy. I’m thinking of selling the 150 for ~2k (US) + shipping “as-is” (including the spinner). It will not come with any guarantees or a warranty. The overhaul cost would be around $3-3.5k. So if you are willing to buy it and have the shop in Ohio overhaul it you could have a nice prop for $5/6k. That’s about a third of a new 300 series.
Let me know if you are interested or, if others are more familiar with overhauling a 150 series, if that price is reasonable.
