Milestone: Canopy ON …rockitdoc
Installed the canopy. I takes three people. One inside to guide the canopy release pin into the canopy hinges and two people on either side to guide the canopy into the hinges while holding it upright. So, now it's on to finishing the wings!
Scott's RV14A: N52XL
That's lucky. It all looks good in the photos. Plenty of dust to deal with here, but we're on a farm in the midst of a very dry season. As long as there is no wind, you’re ok.

Prop governor oil leak, possible cause
Prop governor oil leak, possible cause
About four years and 350 flight hours ago, I removed the original MT governor and replaced it with a Hartzell governor. I did this for two reasons. First, there was an AD issued for later versions of the MT governor because they had modified the design and there were some failures, leading to...

TP724 Wire - Where is it? …Turn and Burn PIREP
Details:
Page 10-25 (RV-14A), step 4 says to route P725 (WHT/RED) and TP724 (GRY/PRP) wires. Unfortunately my WH-00057 wiring harness doesn’t seem to have those wires (or they’re colored differently).
As you can see in the photos, the WHT/RED was pretty easy to distinguish. However, the subsequent photos show the remainder of the harness ends, none of which seem to be GRY/PRP. By process of elimination, I’m guessing the wires it’s actually referring to are the ones in the second photo containing a GRN and a WHT wire (maaaaybe GRY?), wrapped in a WHT sheath. Is this the TP724 wire the plans refer to?

Cheap firewall passthrough
I bought a set of five of the 25mm ID x 39mm long version. Received them, sectioned one to look at the joint. Smoothed one half, pulled the other half apart with a fair amount of force required. The weld has good penetration, but only goes about half depth. Images from various positions are attached.
I think it's probably usable to form a passthrough, but I'd like to hear from anyone who knows more about it than I do whether this is a good idea or not.
Cheap firewall passthrough
I've been looking at firewall passthroughs for electrical wiring, and decided I needed something like https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/firewall_penetration_kit1in.php Unfortunately, these are very expensive, especially when converted to Australian currency and shipped half way...
