I'm wanting to install a targa strip on my tip-up RV7 and not really sure if I want to build one out of alum or bond one out of glass. If I build one out of glass would it be sufficient use just the "bonding" properties of the glass to the prepped plexi or a additional mechanical means? I would rather just scuff the plexi and direct bond but I am not sure if that would adhere long term. Any help would be appreciated. Also of those that built with alum, what was your process?

I made a targa out of fiberglass. Initially I just bonded it to the glass, but had problems with it coming loose at both ends. I put a counter sunk screw thru both ends in the tip-up frame that solved the problem.

If I was starting again, I would use every other hole I drilled to attach the plexiglass to the tip-up frame to hold the targa on.

Thanks,
Jason
