RV-8 instructions call for using half the AN 3 screws and every other #8 screw to attach the tank to the spar.

#8 screws no problem but why not take care of all the AN 3's with the top skin off providing easy access?

Is there a step down the road that requires partial tank attach that will have me kicking myself for putting all the screws in?

I'm not there yet but I believe the tank comes off to set the wing incidence.
I put all mine in. Not looking forward to remiving it but I want to rinse the tanks out with avgas anyway.

Couldn't find a mention of tanks coming off at point of setting incidence.

Seems like they need to be mounted to drill the tank attach and set incidence properly.

I don't think it's in the manual. I read it on VAF, but it may have been a tip for final mounting of the wings so there's more room to work.
I'm still building the fuse so not much of an expert.
