Got a rookie VFR flight plan question.

On my way back to Texas from Sun-N-Fun what problems are there with the Tyndall/Eglin/Pensacola airspace going west along the coast VFR @ 4,500? Looking at the sectionals I know it's busy and since I've not done it VFR I'm wondering if ATC will tell me to go elsewhere........My backup plan is flying north of PTY and paralleling I-10.......I've noticed all the Restricted airspace but am I right there's a <8,500' corridor down the beach?

It'll be during the weekday, normal business hours flight.

Thanks for any tips/advice.

Can't speak for Tyndall, but there is a VFR corridor along the coast in the Eglin and P-cola area. Also, there is a VFR corridor going North from Destin if you want to get away from the coast before reaching Pensacola.

My experience with these corridors has always been good. When the restricted areas are not in use, the controllers will often allow you to fly "direct" instead of staying within the corridors.
