I am needing to seal the slot where the flap acuation rod goes through the rear floor pan. At least before next cold season:). Just wondered what creative solutions are out there.
Thanks

Same Question

I have been thinking of the same thing... I am leaning towards putting some vaseline on the flap, and then a bead of silicone around the actuator hole on the fuselage. Raise the flaps then let is sit for a few days.

I've heard this complaint several times but I have never experienced it

I've heard this complaint several times but I have never experienced it in our RV-6A. We previously had cold air coming in from the wing but I was able to eliminate it with the aileron pushrod boots that Ken Scott wrote up a few years ago in Sport Aviation (I believe that is the correct magazine) and some silicon sealing in that joint area. If you haven't installed the boots you might want to try that as well.
