I'm using a Nova AVI-PAK that just died. I purchased it from CreativAir about 6 years ago.

Anyone have any idea of the service life of these power supplies?
I'm approaching 600 hours.

I saw a post in the archives that Nova has a low cost replacement 604HR.
It was an old post so I'm not sure it's still available.

Update: Just checked Aircraft Spruce and they have the 604-HR + the light assembly for $399.
I don't see the power supply separately.
Is anyone using this setup?

PS I had just researched this for a local RV6A owner two days ago.

Thanks. I did talk to Strobesnmore today.
But, from my understanding is that the XPACK604X flash rate is too fast for aviation.
Archive posts recommended the XPAK604X-HR which means "half rate"
I talked to this company today. GS-Air.com.
Here's their product although they were out of stock and due in any day.

Dan,
Are all 15 flash patterns to rapid? I've never heard of this issue before [but that doesn't mean anything] Can you expand on the flash rate? I was unaware that the HR power supplies even existed. I'm curious about GS Air's claim that their Nova power supply can run 3 or 4 strobe heads [bulbs] at full power. 4 strobes is the maximum for the 604.
Nova's literature for my 906 states that running more than three strobe heads [out of a possible 6] will cause the power to be shared. This will reduce the power [and brightness] of each individual strobe.

Dan,
I just found a system from the company GS Air you linked to earlier. They have a complete system PLUS L.E.D. position lights for the same $399 you quoted from ACS. The power supply alone is $159 Does the ACS system come with the position lamps?

I tried to provide the direct link, but it won't work. I did a search on the GS-Air site for XPak-604-HR and both the complete system and the power supply alone came up.

I can't expand on the flash rate other than I believe I read that the 604X flashes around 100-140 times per minute and is too fast according to the FARs. Don't take my word for it but can find more info in the thread below. I picked up the 'Half Rate' HR, from other postings on the Matronics site and the VAF thread. It's old but a lengthy discussion.
