About to start the glass work on the emp... Have read in some builder logs that they laminate aluminum sheet on the inside to give some bite for the rivets. Plans don't show this. What are the thoughts? Good to do? Unnecessary weight? Thx in advance!

Unnecessary weight, IMO. I didn't do it on the first one and am not doing it on the second one either.

My friends just glued little washers to the Fiberglas to help hold the rivets. That's what I plan to do, too.
