Anyone know where I can find a mounting bolt for a starter. The O320 parts manual calls out a bolt part number LW-31-1.09 which is a 5/16" coarse thread bolt 1 and 3/32" long. I don't have the old bolt so don't know much elses about it. Did an online search for the Lycoming part number with no results soI am now also considering a substitute bolt if I can not find the orginal part.

Go to the Aviation Dept. of your local ACE Hardware store. Be sure to get a bolt with the right grip length (the unthreaded part) and then cut off the extra threads so that the bolt doesn't bottom out in the hole if it's one that goes into the crankcase.

No need for grade 8 here, grade 5 is more than sufficient.

Found One

Brow beat a local A&P into giving me one from his stock. Strangley it looks exactly like a modified grade 8 bolt. Hmmmmm
