....ok, I know I read on here that several of you have gone to the Allen heads versus philips from vans. Did you order the stainless ones from vans, spruce, or elsewhere? I want these, and am ready for them.

Gregg, I don't have the part number right at hand here, but I ordered mine from McMaster-Carr, along with some stainless washers.

I too used cap screws, as they are called, or my fuel tank covers, baggage compartment bulkhead, inspection covers, adel clamps behind the instrument panel, and anywhere else using a regular screwdriver would be a challenge.

I also used them to hold my Sam James cooling plenum to the baffles.

Hex Head for me

Try these hex head screws. Little chance of stripping the head. I use them all over the airplane.

Mine also came from ACE Aircraft Supply in 1998. Removed one to access a fuel sender float that had a leak and sank!
