what would the performance specs be on an 8 with a small (light) say a 0235 or even a 0200? would it fly, top speed,mpg?Also any speed to be had by a different canopy shape,maybe not so "george jetson" bubbley.any thoughts?

You mean if you ignore W&B?

With 100 HP, at 1800 lbs gross weight, the top speed would be about 175 mph, which sounds OK until you consider that rate of climb would be about 400-500 ft/min.

This is assuming you could get the CG to come out right...it's designed around an engine weighing close to 300 lbs.
