New Orleans get My Vote
In RV hours, it should be a 30 minute flight.
Great place to eat. And, of course, eat. The food is good, too!
Have either a Fergi or Debris poboy at Mother's Resturant on Poydras near the river. Don't be afraid of lines, they move quickly. Great food.
Salvo's Restaurant on Belle Chase Highway (across the river) is quite good, don't wear anything nice than jeans.
Gambino's Bakery (several locations, on near the airport) makes a cake Doberge (I can pronounce it, but I'm from there...) which is sinful. Just bought one ... $40. Employees at the place are near rude, but the product....
WWII museum is a must see. My father made some major artifact donations. VERY impressive.
A number of locations in the quarter area are all good. Acme Oyster House stands out in my mind, I don't frequent the quarter.
Have a snowball. Most places are good, I'm partial to Sal's on the corner of Metairie Road and Bonnabel Boulevard. Cheap, simple pleasure.
A visit to the Cafe DuMonde is required. Make certain to have the cafe' au lait.
If you go there, please let us know where you ate!
Check PM, please.
Have a great trip!
