The last "runway" we would call a "strip", is on a claypan at a famous historical place called the Dig Tree. Easier to Google search it and the history of the Burke and Wills Expedition. Its a long way from anywhere out there. The tip tanks are mighty useful.

The first one is the Muncoonie lakes on the edge of the Simpson Desert, very spectaular at low level too!

The second one is Birdsville Qld. Another iconic Aussie spot, again Google search for some info. Has a population of about 100, but for one horse race in the bush event each year the airfield is almost like Oshkosh :D..... well almost, if you know what I mean.

How bout that, I picked the Dig tree but missed Birdsville. It's a dream of mine to fly into those and many other outback places. One day, when the 6 is done.
