I have a question for the avionics savvy among the group. My Bendix/King KLN89B has an internal battery which needs to be replaced. I have had the case open to see it and have one ordered. Is there anything special to soldering the new one in? Thanks Randy - RV-6A in phase one testing-34 hours

I'd contact the manufacturer or maybe a dealer and ask if it the chips will explode (internally) from ESD. . . does it have CMOS in it? other than that, it should be an easy change. don't over-heat the board to which the battery is attached.
