My daughter is finishing up her private out of Monarch Sky. She files regular dispatches to her family. From today's missive:

Today I did a bunch of landings over at Boulder. Word around the
flight school is my Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) likes to take
pilots there to do the landings portion of the check ride. An
interesting thing happened while I was buzzing about the area. I
heard someone call over the radio that "Experimental XXXXXX Raven
flight of 5 RVs heading to run up". There is a group of people out of
Southern California that all have RV air planes and do formation
flying. It is odd since typically everyone calls out their tail
number and where there are and what they are doing. They have one
person call out everything they are going to do, together, except for
the radio check. When they did radio check you heard, "Raven one",
"two", "three", "four", "five". Kind of like when they would make you
count off in PE or on a field trip while you were in school. Then
they took off in twos down the runway, turned south and were out of
there.​

There is a group of Ravens out of Boulder city. Most likely it was Dula, his wife, Zen and a few others. Some of those guys came down to the Ice Cream social, so you may have met them. We have been doing a lot of shows and there is one next weekend.

5-ship Ravens based at BVU

That was us practicing for an upcoming Airshow. Four of us from BVU and one from Northtown (VGT). It was busy this morning with your daughter, two other singles, plus the usual Twin Otters and helicopters. I'm guessing she was the Cessna doing full stop taxi backs.

She has been building time and last minute practice for her check ride. She and her husband took some time off to stay in Henderson and blitz their ratings at Monarch Sky. He was targeting Instrument, Commercial, and CFI for SEL. She decided to finish her private and enjoy the Las Vegas attractions.
