I had to build my own snorkel, which is taking even longer than I had guessed, but it's been quite entertaining. Using a lot of tips from Dan of course - extremely helpful.

One quick question - the interior of the snorkel is a bit "glassy" since my final layer on my mold was very smooth, but with some spots that are not as glassy. I think I probably should have used peel ply as my final layer, and I'll give that a try next time.

My question is, should I sand the snorkel interior and use the microballon smoothing process, or just leave it as is? My concern is that there may be a risk of something flaking off the interior and getting into the engine. I'm not an expert on epoxy resin, and it seems super durable, but I would like to make sure that I'm doing this right. It's a bit more than cosmetic. Thanks for any hints.
