I removed the 6350 mag and installed a 6393 with the SlickStart on my rv-10. Very noticeable improvement on starting.

The slick start is designed to work with the 6393. So you should be good there. But you probably want to remove the impulse coupled mag if it is having problems and replace it with a 6350. A failed impulse coupler can be bad mojo, as I understand.I have a slick start and a slick mag 6393 with 300 hours, my impulse coupler is inop. Should I go a different route or can the slick start operate with the slick 6393 ?
Just to note this is an unfair comparison. The retard mag is designed to use a Slick start for starting. There is no impulse coupling. Almost anything will start better than a retard mag without the slick start.I had the retard mag setup on my 10 when I bought it. Was a bear to hot start. I decided instead of adding the slick start, I replaced the retard mag with a Pmag.
