I have two slick magnetos on my o-320 that I am inspecting (4300 series), and they both seem to not have an o-ring between the case halves. There is a channel to accept an o-ring, however the parts breakdown and list does not describe an o-ring for it. Is this normal?

Should not the two halves be "sealed", and the vent used to normalize the pressure within the magneto?

No o-ring is correct

No o-ring is correct. Not sure but that might be for pressurized mags.

O-ring provision is for pressurized mags, High flight altitudes, turbo/supercharged applications. Where the vent is, is usually replaced with a AN-4 fitting routed to MP.
