We are approaching the required 500 hour overhaul on our Slick 4370/4370 magnetos. Is this something a local A&P/IA would be able to do, or should we plan to ship them to a specialist shop? I believe the previous owner used a specialist. I've found the Champion/Unison/Slick L-1363D Mageto Maintenance and Overhaul Manual, but I believe there is now a newer version, perhaps L-1363F. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We use Select in Lancaster TX, very reasonable prices and when you get them back they will perform and look like NEW. :)

I sent mine to Aircraft Magneto in Seattle WA. $250 plus parts(points, condenser, carbon piece,) and any thing else that needs replacing at an added cost. Came back looking new and rpm drops were in the 20-40 rpm on both mags. Dan

Aircraft Magneto

I just used these guys Cliff and Don at Aircraft Magneto. They did a great job. The price was very close to the estimate and turn around time was also quick. They have the parts and the know how. Give them a call. They did Bendix for me but I see they do Slicks as well. Labor was 300 per mag plus parts.

Ditto Gucci Dude. Good price and service.
I had the Champion Customer Service chief do one for me at Oshkosh. Actually I just brought it up to use as an example for some questions and he inspected it for me. Took about 10 minutes and needed no parts but the center brush. E-gap was fine, wear was fine, no carbon or arching and points were fine.
