while helping me chase an elusive oil leak on my 0-360, my mechanic has detected what he thinks is a bad oil seal on my right mag.
It's a slick 4370 with about 400 hours on it, and working just fine as far as I can tell.
The oil seal isn't very expensive but I can't tell from the manual I downloaded if I can put in a new one without having all those specialized tools they show.
The mechanic can do this, I'm sure, but I generally like to do this stuff if I can. I've got the mag off and partially disassembled but thought maybe one of y'all can tell me if this is something reasonable for me to tackle before I rip all the way into this thing.

thanks,

Is your oil leak coming from the inside of the mag housing? The biggest hurdle is removing the gear or the impulse coupler hub; they can be very stubborn even with the proper tools. I have used as a substitute a good heavy-duty 2-finger puller that has been modified to fit into the grooves, like the T-106.
