Folks,
I have installed a new SL40 into my RV4 that provides great reception in all frequencies. However, the transmissions on and near 125.00 are unreadable while the transmissions down near 118.00 and up at 130.00 are clear and strong. Garmin says that they have not heard of this problem before and have advised me to have the 'standing wave ratio' checked. The antenna is located on the belly under the front stick, and the problem occurs both in the air and on the ground.
Any advice to resolve this situation would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

''Sounds like it may be time to upgrade the antenna?''

Indeed, Larry, that was all it took...a friend had a Comant CI-122 that was just sittin on his bench and was kind enough to allow me to attach the said antenna to my airsled...the transmissions are clear in all frequencies... thanks...

Even a blind pig finds an acorn sometimes. ;)

Alot of radio problems are caused by bad antennas.
